This is an addictive, dark and tortuous story filled with a wonderful cast of dysfunctional characters ....this author really knows her craft when it comes to creating twisted and unexpected plots...

The story is told from the perspective of Jaya and follows her journey as she is pulled into a menacing world where she is victim to the mind games of darker and more broken souls...this was an enthralling and original premise that grabbed my attention and would not let it go....

I am in awe of an author who is able to create such strong and genuinely believable characters whether forces for good or evil they are all fascinating....

A haunting, psychological thriller which had me on the edge of my seat right until the very last page.... I received an ARC of this book from the author.

Still with me? ok... If you love dark stories that rip the emotions out of you and leave you raw and exposed, this is the book for you!!
T.L Smith comes in with a BANG with Buried in Lies!! Sylar and Jaya have anything BUT a normal relationship, everything is based on the makings of Toska and her evil mind!!
I SO wanted to hate Toska from the very beginning due to her selfishness, but caught myself feeling sad and sorry for her the more I read of this phenomenal story!
I seriously don't know where to start with how much I NEEDED to read this story!! Unique, Brilliant, Phenomenal.... are ALL words to describe what I just finished reading!!

We have our main girl Jaya. A girl who feels neglected by her father after her mom was murder when she was little. She's traumatized and broken. Finding her mother's body and sitting in her blood scared her.
Then she meets Toska Hunter. A very unique and strange girl. Who loves to talk about her bother and about her horrible life in foster care. She loves to go to parties every weekend.
Then there's Syler Hunter!!!!❤ He's over protective of his sister. He's a hacker and sexy as hell. He doesn't like to be touch and keeps to himself. Syler does everything Toska wants. Even supporting her sick addiction.
Then one night Jaya agrees to go to a party with them and that's where Jaya discovers Toska's addiction..and it's not only drugs but something darker!! She should stay away from them but she can't help herself. Syler becomes an addictive drug for Jaya. She can't function without it. Then things get worse and Jaya finds herself falling into the darkness. A place filled with betrayals and where she might meet her end.
Honestly one of the best books I have read! EVER.... The book is addictive!!! Highly recommend!!!❤!!!❤
Some might say insanity lurks inside a dark mind, but if that mind belongs to TL Smith, the dark is the seed of creative brilliance! No one, absolutely no one, does dark romance quite like this Dark Queen, and she has taken Buried In Lies to a new level.

This sordid, violent, twisted love affair between Jaya, Syler and Toska will rip your moral compass apart. There is nothing sweet and innocent about any of these characters, though each has there own unique vulnerability, but do not mistake this for weakness, these three are all some shades of evil, even our heroine Jaya, though even that moniker is hardly fitting, is at first seemingly an innocent, but whose own tenacity comes in to play when she sets her sights on vengeance.

Syler is the perfect dark mysterious lover, and again the moniker is a strange fit, for there is very little love evident early in this story. Possession, dominance, power, and manipulation taint his and Jaya's love, and what this tale lacks in slow burn and tenderness, it makes up for in barely restrained tension and intense heat, their interactions burn off the page.

Tosca is the perfect bitch, uber twisted, certifiable bitch if you please, but then again you can expect to feel some thread of emotion for her and what made her who, or rather what, she is.
The other supporting characters in the story cannot go unmentioned either, and I cannot wait to see what lies ahead in TL's future work with Taj. That man set my nether regions quivering, here is a delicious dominant Alpha of a man that immediately grabbed my attention, and I was almost a little disappointed he and Jaya's interaction was so brief.
Add in a worthy cameo from the ever delightful (I'm being sardonic here!) and stoically dark Liam Black and this just topped it off for me!

So if you have any delicate sensibilities, or a fragile need for tender love, you may need to either check them at the door or steer clear of this deeply dark mind f#@k of tale, but you'd be seriously missing out on a unique love story that redefines beauty in all shades dark.
I wanted to start my review classy, like a lady would start a review after she just read one of the best books ever. And then I just realized – this lady never wants to come out and play when it comes to TL Smith’s books. Coherent thoughts long gone, I sat down and tried to pour my soul onto the pages. Then I failed miserably. There are only pure, raw emotions and the storm in my heart.

TL Smith wrecked me with Buried in Lies. I don’t lie when I say this book is my favorite work of hers. It feels like I just cheated on Black and Lotus, but I can’t deny the pull and the magical spell this book still has on me.

Buried in Lies is not a fairytale. It’s far from it. If you’re looking for a sweet, tender love story, it’s not your book. But if you want to experience the power of an all-consuming love, just be my guest and give a try on this story. I’m sure you won’t leave disappointed.
