This was a great read. There was almost non-stop action, an intense teen romance, and enough fantasy creatures to keep the imagination running wild.Kitty is a weredragon, as in, she can change from human to dragon at will. She's also an undercover agent tasked with guarding the president's son, Jacob, along with fellow weredragon Sani. But Sani is more than a partner to her, and Jacob is more than a charge. When a mission goes bad and a dragon in her charge changes in full view of a camera, breaking the number one directive, the day goes from bad to worse, as all dragonkind are taken into custody and the president's son is kidnapped. Kitty and Sani must work to save pretty much everything and everyone, but Kitty finds her feelings for Sani keep popping up, nearly as wild as her dragon.
I really enjoyed this book. Definitely a YA read, and at moments the romance thing gets a bit intense/sappy, but otherwise a very thrilling read with lots of turns and twists that you'll never see coming. Ends at a good place, but a very strong cliff hanger. I love the race theme, too. Really makes you think.

Dragons Are People Too eBook Sarah Nicolas Reviews
A badass teenage dragon shifter secret service agent sets off on a daring rescue mission while the fate of her race hangs in the balance. Need I say more?
I love shifters, especially dragons and I was excited to read this book, especially because it seemed from the sample I read that the dragon shifting wasn't just thrown in for window dressing but was actually going to be a real part of the plot. Also, I loved the idea that the heroine, Kitty, was a Chinese dragon who was an unassuming, petite Asian girl while in her human form. I haven't had much luck with YA, but decided to overlook the fact that she was 16 and read this anyway. Unfortunately, this book was just okay for me. Like most YA books I read, I thought Kitty was self-absorbed, entitled, convinced the entire world revolved around her, and TSTL. I have a feeling that YA just isn't for me as I can see from the other reviews that most readers found her to be strong although a bit stubborn and didn't seem to mind the way she kept making boneheaded mistakes because she let her emotions overrule her logic.
I also was not a fan of Kitty's crush on her fellow dragon, Sani. I felt like Kitty kept feeling flushed and thinking romantic thoughts at completely inappropriate moments when she was in real danger. This seemed to be just another way in which she was incompetent. Meanwhile, Sani seemed like he could be a great character but he was underdeveloped and as far as I could tell, was basically in the story remind Kitty to act like an agent instead of a spoiled teen and to calm her down whenever she started to lose control of her rage. I think the story would have been much stronger without this obligatory romantic element.
I'm rating this three stars instead of two because I did like the world building and the plot. The pacing was good, plus bonus points for dragons and for plenty of action while in dragon form! If it wasn't for my dislike of the heroine, I would definitely want to continue with this series.
A fast-paced, skillful and delightful read that had me hooked from the first paragraph. I loved the world, the different kinds of dragons, the authenticity of Kitty and her relatable struggles, the sweet and heady romance. So much to love in this exciting debut. Can't wait for more!
To be honest i bought this book by accident, but as i started to read it.I realized it was a very good book.its not something i normally would read but if you like dragons and teen romance with alot of drama then give this book a try.you want regret it.
Reading this book was a very pleasant surprise. The author kept my interest consistently throughout.
Kitty is a character with some depth, not perfect, but trying to find herself. A great teen novel.
But, as an adult, I will buy the next when it comes out. I want to see what she does next. ;)
Shape-shifting Dragons working undercover to protect us from evil. This is a wonderful idea which I thought was well executed in this book. The characters are introduced in the midst of a secret mission. They run into trouble (multiple times) but always work out a solution in creative fashion. The book was entertaining and held my interest from beginning to end.
Dragons are People Too by Sarah Nicolas does not disappoint. With fast pacing and lots of action, this teen story rewards the reader with a tender love story as well. I'm guessing this excellent writer has a sequel in the works. Can't wait!
